MINISFORUM reveals new details about AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D and Intel Core i9

MINISFORUM has revealed new details about Project DRFXI and Project RPFXI, codenames for its AMD and Intel-based mini-PCs built around Mini-ITX motherboards. To recap, the company showcased both motherboards during Computex 2023. As we discussed a month ago, MINISFORUM subsequently confirmed that it would offer the mini-PC in AMD 7045HX and Intel Raptor Lake HX55 flavours, albeit without giving too many details away.

Now, it has outlined the most powerful Project DRFXI and Project RPFXI configurations that it has developed thus far. Specifically, MINISFORUM demonstrated the former with the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, a 16-core and 32-thread APU that we reviewed a few days ago in the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 X3D. Meanwhile, Project RPFXI will be available with up to the Core i9-13980HX, Intel's 24-core and 32-thread processor that matches the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D with a 55 W TDP. Thus, both variants will ship with gaming PC-grade processors. Moreover, MINISFORUM has included a top-mounted PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for adding discrete graphics. Seemingly, the Project DRFXI and Project RPFXI are big enough for an RTX 4090 to sit atop them despite only having 6-litre cases. Although MINISFORUM has not confirmed pricing or availability yet, it hopes to sell AMD and Intel variants as pre-built PCs or as standalone motherboards.
