Intel Processor N100 mini PC with 8GB LPDDR5 memory sells for $156 and up

Topton is selling a mini PC based on the Intel Processor N100 Alder Lake-N quad-core processor with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM for $156.44 and up depending on the selected SSD capacity.

But despite its low price, the specifications are not too bad with dual 4K video output thanks to HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort interfaces, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, four USB ports including one USB 3.0 port, and an audio jack.

The Intel Processor N100 mini PC is offered with Windows 11 or Windows 10 for systems with an SSD, but Ubuntu is also listed. The package includes a power adapter, a SATA cable, a VESA bracket, and a user manual. I find it a little odd, or at least disappointing, that M.2 NVMe SSDs are not supported, and only M.2 SATA modules are. The specifications are amazingly close to the ones of the upcoming MSI Cubi N ADL mini PC that we covered last January, and whose specifications skip the type of M.2 SSD supported… Performance-wise, it should be slightly better than a system based on a Pentium Silver N6000 Jasper Lake SoC.

The cheapest model at $156.44 is barebone in the sense that it comes with 8GB LPDDR5, but no storage. For a complete system with a 64GB SSD, you’d need to spend $161.74 or only around $5 extra… You can select between Windows 11, Windows 10, or no operating system, but the price does not change, so we can safely assume Windows is not activated. The top model with 8GB RAM and 2TB SSD goes for $279.24.
